,Tweet Facebook Mail Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson has broken down describing the moment he found out his sister Connie had bone cancer almost 30 years ago.Appearing in an emotional episode of Anh’s Brush with Fame the 37-year-old said the battle started when Connie saw a doctor about being unable to put weight on her leg when she was just 11 years old. “I'll never forget the moment, the afternoon when I found out. I was waiting for my tennis lesson out in the front yard, just playing my strokes, you know? And Dad didn't turn up, and it was very unlike my dad to not be there if he said he was gonna be there," he said.“I remember the car coming into the driveway and me thinking, 'I'm not gonna make my tennis lesson now.' And I looked through the window and my sister was in the front seat (and) just wouldn't look anywhere.“Dad was just white.“I followed him inside, and he was curled up on the couch in the foetal position, sobbing, just weeping, just bawling.”Connie went on to beat her bone cancer, but 11 years later, when she was 22, she was diagnosed with cancer of the womb.RelatedNew gene therapy could help treat bowel cancer that reaches the liverUK woman accused of faking cancer to raise more than $81,000 from crowdfundingPaul 'Fatty' Vautin reveals skin cancer scareFor a second time, she beat the cancer. She'd beaten it twice,” Johnson told Do. “She had framed her whole identity around being a cancer vanquisher. And then she was told - with a three and four-year-old - that this time she wasn't gonna beat it.“This time, no matter how hard she tried, she'd have to farewell her kids. “She's at the part where there's no good news.”Do painted a portrait of Johnson which is being auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer research.
